Let’s see how you can edit another person’s file in Illustrator. First of all choose the Text tool and click.
Now in the Layer palette you will see a new layer in text mode.
By looking more closely you will see that the text on the page is converted to outlines using Create Outlines. Therefore hope of changing the text is ruined. What can be done?
Using the Selection tool, select all the text.
Choose the text shown below with the Text tool.
In future, try not to convert any text that requires editing. Always keep a spare copy of the file for emergencies. If you have created a logo that includes text, save the original with the text still active. If you want to convert it to outlines, do that and remember to save a copy.
